WebImage: v1.72 Only
<--Back to WebImage Tech Support
Q: Can I create animated GIFs with WebImage 1.72?
A: No, WebImage v2 support animated GIFs.
Q: How can I get back to editing the image now that I'm
done with the mapping items?
A: Select Map Mode under Mapping to uncheck that option in the menu and bring
you back to Image Editing.
Q: Why is it when I select a small area and zoom in, I lose
the ability to edit my image?
A: The zoom factor in WebImage 1.72 is only viewable up to 27x. Anything past
that is lost. This bug is fixed in WebImage 2.0.
Q: I'm trying to add a transparency to the image. I select
the color and preview it. Then I remove it and press okay. But there is no transparency
when I save the image. Why not?
Q: I'm trying to add a transparency to the image. I select the color and press
the remove button but nothing happens. What's going on?
A: To create a transparency, select the color and press OK. You'll know a transparency
was properly created because the hash pattern will remain in place, showing which
parts are transparent. By pressing Remove you are actually removing the transparency,
as indicated by the "None" displayed in the color box.
Q: How can I delete an old catalog?
A: There are two catalog dialogs. The first allows you to build new thumbnail
catalogs or view current ones. This one is selected by pressing the thumbnail
button on the toolbar. The second allows you to delete catalogs and compact the
database. This one is accessed by selecting Thumbnail Database from the Options
menu. Once you delete a catalog, be sure to compact the database.
Q: Why does my catalog file take up several megabytes
of space when I've only got a couple of catalogs?
A: You may have a tremendous number of images in each catalog, in which case that's
just how much room it takes. Another problem may be that you've done lots of
catalog and image maintenance and the catalog database needs to be compacted.
Rather than rebuild the whole database each time a change is made, WebImage removes
the old image by flagging its position as empty space. The problem is, the catalog
file continues to grow and grow. Compacting the database rewrites the whole database
without the empty spaces. If you are making any regular changes to any of your
catalogs or images in those catalogs, you will probably need to compact the database
every once in a while. This can be done by selecting Compact Database in the
Thumbnail Database dialog under the Options menu.
