WebImage: Working with Text
<--Back to WebImage Tech Support
Q: How can I get my text to get that smooth look?
A: There is a function under the Text Options or Font dialog called Anti-Aliasing.
This takes the edges of the text and smoothes them out for a more blended look.
Q: Why does WebImage 1.72 allow the use of the extended
character set but not
WebImage 2.0?
A: We accidentally removed the ability to use extended characters in WebImage
2.0. However, we have restored that ability in WebImage 2.1.
Q: Why can't I type plus or minus when I'm entering text?
A: There is a problem with WebImage 2.0 where the + and - keys were mapped exclusively
to Zoom In and Zoom Out. This problem is fixed in WebImage 2.1.
Q: How can I put text up the side of my picture as opposed
to on the top or
bottom?
A: There is a function under the Text Options dialog in WebImage 1.72 or under
the Text menu in WebImage v2 called Direction. You can pick Horizontal for regular
text or Vertical Up or Down to have the text entered vertically.
Q: If I made a spelling error when I typed in the text,
can I change it?
A: If you haven't dropped the text yet, just use the arrow keys to move back to
the error and correct it. Don't use the mouse because this will drop the text
you are currently working on. If you've dropped it already, then you'll have
to undo and retype the text correctly.
Q: Is there any way to center the text nicely on my image?
A: There is a function under the Text Options dialog in WebImage 1.72 or under
the Text menu in WebImage 2.0 called Justification. You can pick Left for regular
text, Right to have the text lined up on the right side or Center to have the
text centered around the cursor.
Q: How can I get my selecting tool back after entering
text?
A: Select Add Text (under the Text menu in WebImage v2 or under the Effects menu
in WebImage v1.72) to uncheck the option and return you to image editing. You
can also just click the Text Mode button in the toolbar (the button with two T's
on it) to toggle between the two modes.
